Blue Sail Restaurant, The Bahamas.

Island Baby

I recently visited The Bahamas for the very first time and oh my was it Beautiful. For those of you who may not know much about The Islands of the Bahamas, they form part of what’s known as The Carribean. On a map it’s just South of Miami and right before Cuba, a perfect location and any sun worshippers dream destination.

We were invited to visit Blue Sail restaurant in Nassau the capital of The Bahamas and wow were we in for a treat. I cannot say enough about the restaurant from its perfect beach setting to the mouth watering menu, delicious cocktails and fantastic staff .

The restaurant is in the most beautiful location on Sandy port beach. It is the only one of it’s kind on the Island. Perfectly perched it overlooks the dreamy beach and turquoise blue water that surrounds these majestic Islands. It was the first time since arriving in Nassau that I really felt that Island vibe and I couldn’t but take it all in.

We arrived before Sunset and had the most spectacular views of the ocean. It was by far one of my favourite dining experiences i’ve had on any of my travels so far. When we sat for dinner the Staff couldn’t do more for us. I had the Bahama Mama cocktail’s, some wine and of course a strawberry Daiquiri.

Blue Sail  “is a casual dining Mediterranean French fusion restaurant”. From Pizza to the most delicious Seafood dishes, Blue Sail boasts a mouth watering menu sure to please any palette. I found it really difficult to decide what to eat. Growing up in a seaside town on the coast of Ireland I was always a lover of great seafood. I even worked in a Seafood restaurant for a few years when I was at University, so I couldn’t but try the seafood here. We had a few different bits and Jacques wanted us to try some of his favourites too and the food was  simply outstanding.

To Start we went for,

– Bahamian Conch fritter with Calypso dip &
Mediterranean platter

Tuna tartar tacos
Grouper, pineapple and mango salsa taco &

Lion fish with caviar of egg plant, fondant garlic and spaghetti is zucchini and yellow squash

For our main’s we had the,

– Bahamian Crawfish (Lobster) with Peas & rice
Surf and Turf with tenderloin of beef with peppercorns sauce and Bahamian Crawfish (Lobster) Island style.
